Aris Kyparissis

Professor of Plant Ecophysiology

Aris Kyparissis is a Professor in the Department of Agriculture Crop Production and Rural Environment at the University of Thessaly. He holds a BSc in Biology (1990) and a PhD in Plant Ecophysiology (1995) from the University of Patras.

He carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Patras (1996–2001) and has held academic positions at the University of Ioannina (Assistant Professor 2001–2012, Associate Professor 2012–2017) and the University of Thessaly (Associate Professor 2018–2025, Professor since 2025).

His research focuses on plant ecophysiology, ecosystem dynamics and productivity, integrating field methods, photosynthesis models and remote sensing.
